Ireland Fellows Programme 2027/28

Ireland Fellows Programme 2027/28 is seeking applications from Nigerian and Ghanaian students who are ready to study a masters program in Ireland. The programme will cover full tuition fees, flight costs to and from Ireland, provide accommodation support and cover living expenses.

Before applying, applicants will need to take an English language proficiency test, have relevant work experience for at least three years and have completed a bachelor’s degree. They must also have leadership qualities and not already have a master’s degree or be pursuing one currently.

Applications are open from June and will run through July 26, 2026. If successful, applicants will be invited for interviews, which may be in person, virtual or through the telephone.

What is the Ireland Fellows Programme 2027/28?

The Ireland Fellows Programme is sponsored by the Government of Ireland in partnership with the ICOS. The programme will support bachelor’s degree holders with first-class and second-class honours to study a fully funded masters program in Ireland.

To be eligible, applicants must show leadership qualities, relevant work experience and willingness to build long-lasting relationships while studying in Ireland.

The program will cover living expenses, provide accommodation support, and sponsor flight costs for successful students. It is an opportunity for students to study a master’s degree program in Ireland while building their networks, skills and creating long-term career growth.

As part of the criteria, students will have to undertake an IELTS exam to show their English proficiency. Students in Nigeria specifically will also have to undertake a Duolingo as part of the English language test. They must score 120 with at least 105 in each section.

Application processes are in multiple stages. Stage one involves the submission of documents and personal details. The second stage involves the English test and submitting other relevant documents. Successful applicants at this stage will be invited for an interview physically or virtually.

Eligibility Requirements

• The fellowship is open only to Nigerian and Ghanaian students.
